Flash XML News Ticker / Scroller Panel

Hoping you can help. I am having trouble getting the ticker to display any text properly. This is probably user error as I am not extrememly profficiant in either Flash or XML but do have enough knowledge to apply this. I am able to insert the ticker onto my page in Dreamweaver,However, I dont think I am linking the ticker to the xml properly . How would I do this? I am using Flash 8, Dreamweaver 8.
My next question is , in addition to the linking, can you explain to me the best methods for not only editing but linking. Will this be done through flash or Dreamweaver? Again, Im not an expert but am experienced enough to understand instruction.

If you can assist me in getting the text to display, I think I can figuire out the rest.

The logo that is shown as the panel drops is an external png image that can be easily updated.
The speed at which the text characters appear can be changed.
Each line of text can be a different color.
The delay between each line of text can also be specified.
